Many are accusing African Americans of simply voting for Barack Obama because he is black. I wonder what they have to say about the honesty of white West Virgina Voters?
21% of white voters in W. Virginia say race was a factor in their voting. Click the link below to read the entire CNN Exit Polls from the West Virginia Primary.

I would like to say that this isn’t true, or that it doesn’t represent West Virginia. I can’t. I can say that I grew up here, and that the issue of race is less significant here than the issue of “otherness.” That you’d have heard the same sort of thing, I think, if Giuliani’s campaign had made it this far, but you’ve have heard people saying they didn’t trust “a New Yorker.” That I grew up as one of the few Jews here, and don’t recall ever experiencing any anti-Semitism.
But it’s shameful, and we need to do something about it. Does the Southern Poverty Law Center have a VICE Squad? Is there an NAACP Special Forces team? Because we are clannish and distrustful of outsiders, but we have not traditionally been racists. And some of us are very, very ashamed.
