Were Mark Cuban’s comments racist or was he being honest?

23 May

Mark Cuban the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks made some very interesting comments when discussing race issues and Donald Sterling. In a moment of pure honesty Cuban admitted to being prejudiced and bigoted at times. Some feel that an example he used of seeing a black man in a hoodie may make him cross the street was racist. Check out his statements – See more at: http://www.africanamericanreports.com/2014/05/were-mark-cubans-comments-racist-or-was.html

Should LA Clippers players boycott their next game to protest owner Sterling’s racist comments?

27 Apr

ESPN’s Stephen Smith has reported that the Clipper players discussed boycotting the next game. I would not suit up to play for that a**hole but I’m not on the team. I wont have to pay any fines or get docked a game check. What do you think they should do? http://aareports.com/2014/04/should-la-clippers-players-boycott-next.html

Did the Miami Heat lose games to avoid playing the Bulls or Nets?

Did the Miami Heat lose games to avoid playing the Bulls or Nets?

Miami Heat or the Brooklyn Nets. Now the same people who believe that probably believe in UFO’s, Big Foot, that Tupac is still alive, and that WWE Wrestling is real. (they could be right about that last one)

They claim that since both the Nets and Bulls have winning records against the Heat that Miami is trying to avoid both teams in the second round of the playoffs.

Marcus Smart was wrong but so was the fan.

9 Feb

Marcus Smart was wrong but so was the fan.

Let me make one thing very clear. Oklahoma State basketball player Marcus Smart was dead wrong for putting his hand on a Texas Tech fan during a game on Feb. 8. But what saddens me is the pass that the fan who instigated the incident seems to be getting. The fact that the fan, Jeff Orr has been accused of using racial slurs has been downplayed while Marcus Smart’s character and basketball future has been questioned. – See more at: http://aareports.com/2014/02/marcus-smart-was-wrong-but-so-was-fan.html

Grambling University and 10 other HBCUs banned from 2013/2014 postseason due to academics

Grambling University and 10 other HBCUs banned from 2013/2014 postseason due to academics

It may seem like I’m picking on HBCUs this week but I’m not. I’m trying to make everyone aware of the serious plight that they are in. These schools have seen thousands of African Americans go through them and for many then and now it’s the only they can afford to go to college. We need to be aware of any problem before it can be fixed. Fact is HBCUs are in trouble whether we want to admit it or not. One day we will look around and wonder where most of them went.
