State panel finds Valley Swim Club guilty of discrimination

A state commission issued a finding of probable cause that racism was involved in the decision by a suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, swim club to revoke privileges of a largely minority day care center.

The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, in its 33-page finding, details the incident. It notes that the swim club maintains that it canceled its relationship with the day care center because members were requesting that their membership fees be refunded and because of safety concerns “attendant with overcrowding of the shallow end of the pool by a large number of non-swimmers.”

My interview with Regina Kelly the woman the film American Violet is based on

Hi this is George Cook of www.letstalkhonestly.com . Many of you may or may not know who Regina N. Kelly is. She is a African American woman falsely arrested on drug charges who refused to take a plea deal and fought back. Her story is the basis of the film “American Violet” now playing in limited release across the united States. I have been honored to interview Regina and some of the things we discuss are:

*What happened the day she was arrested

*How she feels about her country today

*Why she wouldn’t take the plea deal

*How her arrest affected her children

*How other than the NAACP no civil rights “leaders” stepped up to help her and much more.

Video: President Obama’s entire speech at the NAACP Convention

It was an amazing visual to see the a black president addressing the 100 NAACP Convention.

I love the fact that he not only exposed self responsibilty and said that there were no more excuses but that he did so from a position of love not superiority. Click the link below to watch the entire speech:

Civil rights leaders not happy with Obama’s first 100 days

Civil rights leaders are not that happy with President Obama. It appears that it’s not so much what he has done about civil rights issues and race relations as much as it is he doesn’t seem to want to address either issue at all.
