MLK’s Dream: We still have a long way to go.
16 JanOne of the great things about being the board of education president in my town is that it gives me the opportunity to address the public and more importantly our children. We hold a Martin Luther King Celebration every year and it was a great honor to be allowed to speak at that celebration.

While many are focusing on August 28, the date of the actual dedication of the MLK Monument the Memorial will officially open to the public on Monday, August 22, 2011.

Samuel L. Jackson will star as Martin Luther King, Jr. opposite Angela Bassett in the Broadway production of the new play, The Mountaintop. The play’s opening will be October 13, 2011. Also while I have not seen the script it’s safe to assume that Jackson will not dropping the “F” bomb is this role.
