GOP 2012 budget motto: !@#$ the poor!

You can post this in the !@#$ that happens when people don’t come out and vote file. Many who will be affected by these cuts did not come out to vote in 2010. Now sadly in 2011 and headed into 2012 they will feel the consequences of that decision. There could be cuts to things like Head Start, Pell Grants, and public housing. With the 112th congress  in place we are hearing a lot about what they will do once they are in. Many say that things like repealing healthcare are what the “people” want. That got me to wondering about which issues are the most important to people.

For a guy who took a “shellacking” in the midterm elections six weeks ago, President Obama is doing pretty well during this lame-duck political period. There’s the tax cut/unemployment deal. He got a trade deal with South Korea. Saturday he saw a huge win in the demise of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” ban on gays . Check out this very interesting article by Ed Henry of CNN. In it he writes about Obama while on the campaign trail for senate and congressional candidates returning to the 2008 campaign form that drew thousands to his campaign rallies and encouraged thousands more to vote democrat.
